We experienced an issue with our infrastructure setup which caused around 33% of our API requests to Booking.com to fail. This problem affected all sections of our application, including Messaging, Reservation, and Calendar syncs.

We did have retries for scheduled messages, reservations, and calendar syncs, so most of the failed requests would have eventually succeeded, but it may have caused some delays for our hosts.

However, event messages were not retried and were potentially affected the most.

The incident started on December 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM UTC and was resolved by January 3, 2024, at 8:00 AM UTC.
